The Owl and the Pussy-Cat

Paul and his beautiful bride, Laura, married at the Manchester Portico Library in an intimate ceremony on the 12.06.2022.

Paul and Laura have a love for literature and what better way to be married than have all the beautifull love stories surrounding you?

The staff at the Portico Library were some of the best I have come across. The team went out of their way to help make Paul and Laura's Day as smooth as possible.

The love to literature showed with a book that Paul & Laura had helped to restore for the Library that would hold their love story. A beautiful book "The SEA and its Living Wonders" This book will remain in the Manchester Portico Library for all to enjoy with a beautifull memorial to their wedding day.

On the top of the cake was an Owl and a Pussy-cat in a green boat.

The Poem "The Owl and the Pussy-cat" by Edward Lear

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea

   In a beautiful pea-green boat,

They took some honey, and plenty of money,

Wrapped up in a five-pound note.

The Owl looked up to the stars above,

And sang to a small guitar,

"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,

What a beautiful Pussy you are,

         You are,

         You are!

What a beautiful Pussy you are!"

II

Pussy said to the Owl, "You elegant fowl!

   How charmingly sweet you sing!

O let us be married! too long we have tarried:

But what shall we do for a ring?"

They sailed away, for a year and a day,

To the land where the Bong-Tree grows

And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood

With a ring at the end of his nose,

            His nose,

            His nose,

With a ring at the end of his nose.

III

"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling

Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."

So they took it away, and were married next day

By the Turkey who lives on the hill.

They dined on mince, and slices of quince,

   Which they ate with a runcible spoon;

And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,

They danced by the light of the moon,

            The moon,

            The moon,

They danced by the light of the moon.

Paul & Laura wear joined by some of their closest friends and family ,we had to capture this beautifull moment with a big group picture and I was offed a ladder ... Never befour have I been offed a ladder but of course I was never going to back down to a challenge for a beautifull picture .Up the ladder I went and onto the book case ,I had visions of The film The Mummy where all the bookcases fall in a dominoes effect .

From The beautiful ceremony to Manchester Library for some intimate portraits of the beautiful couple , we had onlookers wishing them well .It was a beautiful day sharing the joy ,laughter and love that Paul and Laura have for each other ,Their love story is just starting and I wish them all the well in writing it .
